About Jared
Being only 19, I can actually relate to students and I am much more familiar with the course material since it's so recent to me. I love helping people, and I was a tutor throughout high school for pretty much all subjects, and I've taken a lot of AP classes, so I understand the intensive curriculum.
I don't have any formal education in teaching, but I have been a tutor for 4 years, tutoring students all throughout high school and into college. I feel that being younger actually helps with tutoring because the conversation takes on a more friendly and conversational tone, and I have more recent exposure to the course materials I'm teaching them.

First, I feel that it's important to get to know the student and their situation to understand what might be the cores of their struggles. It also helps to form a good relationship with the students I tutor so that we can have more open conversations about what they need help with. Finally, when it comes to helping with their school work, I generally like to help teach them the material in ways that I know make things easier to understand. Simply memorizing things or being given the answers won't help down the road when the material comes up again.
I've worked with students from beginner classes all the way up to advanced college-level courses, and everything in between.
Make sure that you are able to get along with your tutor. If you could have a conversation with them about non-educational topics, or even if you feel that you could be friends, you'll likely be able to understand and communicate with them more easily without their feeling like a power dynamic is at play.
