About Emma
As a student myself, I can better assess the needs of individual students. My study tactics, methods of learning, and understanding of--high school in particular--curriculum allows me to help others from levels k-12.
I am a junior in high school with a background of helping out peers and tutoring on a semi-regular basis during the school year.
During my high school experience, I've taken higher level courses in English and History, but I have a passion for math and chemistry. Outside of school--due to covid--I've begun taking online courses such as statistics and plan on a chemistry course in the future.
I've always loved learning and when I can assist in passing that onto others, it's a rewarding experience.
I know academics can either be challenging or even discouraging, so if I can make a student feel confident it makes it worth it.
I work as a teaching assistant outside of school, but within the academic environment I assist in my classes helping peers.

Since my experience elites within helping peers primarily and working as a TA in some instances, I tend to create a method of teaching for each student.
In general, I like to find out what's areas the student is confused in and what they are confortable in. From there, I find out what explanations are helpful and great opportunities to practice. I tend to breakdown larger topics into subsections and integrate practice problems to solidfy a stronger understanding.
I've worked with students from k-12, but I have a more extensive background with students from grades 7-11.
I am taking a statistics course, which is offered online via Harvard. I find it's an excellent way for me to explore online learning, despite my usual in-person environment.
