About Abdul

With many years as a school tutor and private tutor, I have gained great skills in finding the best way for each student to learn and understand the subject.

The "I get it.... that makes much more sense!" from students.

I started at saddleback College as a math tutor. I have also tutored privately on my own and both experiences gave me a lot of value and lessons in terms of navigating around problems.

I have been a tutor at Saddleback College for about 2 years during my time there. I tutored from algebra to multi-variable calculus with the exception of statistics. I am a UCI Chemistry graduate class of 2019.

About the lesson

I always take the first couple of lessons as a way to try an understand the student. How they learn, what they have difficulty with, and what makes it easier for them. We then stay one step ahead by revieweing the material for next day in advance. When we work, we have a discussion environment where the student gets to voice their thoughts so we can both walk through the problem together.

I won't do your assignments for you, but I will spend every second next to you with full attention to walk you through problem-solving so that you are able to develop your skills. I love working with any type of students who are willing to help themselves. I firmly believe that you can't help someone who doesn't want to help themselves. We will work patiently and calmly through our sessions, but you have your own accountabilities and I have mine.

Compassion. Courage, and Connection. Find someone who is empathic. Someone who will allow you to explore and be who you are and not shame you or intimidate you. and Lastly, someone who will connect with your experiences and struggles as they have their own and would use that to really help you overcome not just math problems, but life obstacles as well.

I have so many, but I don't know what specifically is meant by recent event so I would share it in person.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It all comes down to you. I think you should not have to worry about thinking what questions to ask, I believe the teacher's job is to listen and help guide you to the best of their abilities as their perspective may not be impaired emotionally.

Details

My rate standard rate is $40/hr. We can cover anything from new material to help with assignments. Usually I don't require a minimum number of hours/week nor do I set a maximum. rate is the same whether I drive to you, or we meet in a coffee shop as long as within 15 miles radius from Mission Viejo. Payments are collected after each session.
