About Taylor
I'm a PhD student in Applied Physics at Cornell University. I hope to be a convenient source of instruction and continued support for students in math, physics and chemistry.
I majored in physics (with a chemistry minor) at University of Colorado Boulder, and am currently a second year PhD student. I'm driven by a passion for science and math, and I hope that I can share this passion with my students!

I've always been driven by a passion for science and math, which is why I have pursued a career in physics. However, during my PhD I had the opportunity to act as a teacher's assistant, where I learned that I loved to teach students individually. My favorite part of the TA experience was helping the students who regularly came to my office hours, and watching their development. As a tutor, I hope to help students develop both the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed.

I first try to establish what the student is looking for, whether they need to study for an exam, get help with a homework assignment or get extra practice outside of class. Then I'll try to find some good example problems for them to attempt, while walking me through their reasoning so that I can assess their understanding of the material. From there I can develop a specialized plan to suit their needs and level of understanding.
