About Melis
I studied Bioengineering at Northeastern University focusing in Bioimaging and Signal Processing and I will be beginning law school this fall. I understand how difficult it can be to balance coursework and especially how hard it can be to maintain a strong level of learning across all subject areas. As the first in my family to become an engineer, I had to teach myself many things and know how valuable a tutor can be. I have experience in lower to upper level math and sciences and can also be of help in English topics and LSAT studies for preparation to law school. I can teach a wide variety of ages and subjects and have a flexible schedule to meet over phone / video chat.
In college I was a teacher's assistant to first year engineers and have experience with tutoring and mentorship. I believe in personalizing my approach and targeting a student's specific needs and understanding what works for them. Being able to understand a thinking style and work with that style leads to the greatest academic success.
Through the generosity of scholarships and aid throughout my studies I was able to achieve a degree in engineering and now go on to pursue my law degree. The help others provide in our educational journeys can be monumental and because of all of the help I received I want to give back and help others in the pursuit of education. Learning allows for the expansion of knolwedge and perspective, and I take personal joy in seeing other students learn and grow at any age.

I like to first start by getting an idea of the student's prior experience and knowledge level in the topic where help is needed. I also like to get an idea of the course structure and the type of assignments and examinations that are given. Based on that and based on the student's weaknesses I devise a plan and provide study techniques to improve success.
