About Derrick
I'm Derrick. I have a PhD in Mathematics, have 8 years of teaching experience and have passed 7 SOA exams. I'm quite happy to tutor any quantitative subject, though Probably and Statistics are my favorite.
I always attempt to understand what my students are looking for and can pull from a wealth of experience to provide that. I don't just emphasize math, but also time management, test taking strategies, and presentation skills as appropriate.
Most importantly, I'm friendly and easy to work with.

I like to begin with a conversation about exactly what their trying to accomplish: completing a course, test prep, etc. Then gauge how they feel they are doing, where they want to be and what learning style best suits them. From there we can negotiate meeting times, media and general format.
