About Kellie

I am a certified teacher in Elementary Education. I have been teaching for 21 years, but I have taught Elementary Math in grades 3, 4, and 5 for 17 years in Richland County School District One.

I always struggled with math in school. I love helping students develop a better number sense through the use of hands-on activities.

I love helping students build their confidence in their abilities.

I am certified and have my Masters degree in Elementary Education. I also have a Gifted and Talented endorsement.

About the lesson

I like to make the student feel at ease so we can develop a positive working relationship. I discuss the areas of strength and needed growth with the parents and student, so I have an idea of where to begin. The student will work a couple of problems for me, so I can observe his/her strategies for problem solving and any misconceptions the student may have. We will use hands-on activities and games, when possible, to make math more enjoyable.
