About Lilly
I adore this job as it allows me to watch students become truly fascinated by mathematics and to watch their passions grow. That is one of the fundamental building blocks of my teaching strategy. Even for students who may not particularly like the subject, there is always a sense of surprise, shock or appreciation for areas of maths that I aim to cultivate to bring the highest rates of academic success possible to my students. I am a Mathematics student at university myself and have been tutoring for over two years all online. I am halfway through my Mathematics Bachelors degree and have held a multidue of lectures and interactive lessons for Mathematics students all over the world including during a summer course for those in UK Years 9-11 in Kings College University, London in 2019.
I had formerly been involved with pastoral care and voluntary tutoring at my high school and assisting students with what they were struggling with became a passion of mine.

My teaching process is based on intrigue within the subject. This may include deriving equations or running through the purpose of the subtopic being taught. I would then apply this pure mathematics to relevant theory which allows students to have shorter recall times and link the mathematics given to them with a meaning and purpose. We would then dive into practise questions spending time mapping different approaches to question thag the student struggled with. This is normally where we see a peak in the confidence level of the student as they understand the different mathematical reasoning options available to their ability. I would then spend a couple of sessions doing questions that slightly further the syllabus to prepare the student for whatever challenge may come their way.
I would advise you to see who you instantly connect with because those are the teachers who will stick with you for a very long time so if you respect their words, you'll respect the content they are teaching too and there is no better way to learn than to be in awe of your teacher.

My pricing system is $12 dollars per hour per student. If the lesson is cancelled less than 24 hours in advance of the arranged time, the full cost will still be charged.
