About Kelly

I am an Elementary School Special Education Teacher. I feel that I can provide differeneted instruction that will better fit childrens needs in order to succeed.

I love being able to figure out how a child learns best, and putting together different pieces of what they already know in order to create lesson's that they find engaging.

I began teaching in a residential facility and am now currently in Waltham Public Schools.

I am a Special Educator and have expereince working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behavioral Disorders, Emotional Disorders and other learning disabilities. From all of this experience, I feel that I have a good grasp on different teaching tools to better support learners independent needs.

About the lesson

I initially like to get to know the student; understand their interests and what they are struggling with, and ask them how they think they learn best. From there, we work together to figure out what works best for them and how we can improve their area of struggle.

General Education students and students with multiple different learning disabilties.

I am here to work with the students in any way that is going to support their learning styles.

I currently have a second grade student who has always struggled with reading. He began the school year reading at a DRA level 4 and now, in April, and after implementation of an individualized program, he is reading at a DRA level 12.
