About Mary
I always love teaching sign language. It's my language so I've always been teaching anyone who comes across with me.
I am fluent in sign language since it is my first language. I took ASL 1, ASL 2, and ASL3 at Lone Star College along with Deaf cultures, interpreting classes, and several others. I would sometimes assist the interpreting class teachers with their students at college to help the students to improve their interpreting and communication skills. I assisted singers with their songs to translate to ASL then tutored them to learn new signs for their songs. I have certification in ASL Communication SKills.

I design my sign language communication-focused curriculum for my ASL classes depending on the student's knowledge and needs. The curriculum is based on the most common concepts used in everyday virtual communication. I will be going through the lessons with you to reach communicative competence in sign language quickly. I will see how much a new student knows sign language and I'll develop a cirriculum that fits their knowledge.
I have worked with various students, from toddlers to adults, young students, and college students including special needs students.
My advice for any student looking to hire an ASL teacher is to find a person who has a passion to teach Deaf Culture. Teaching ASL is part of Deaf World.
