About Robert
It was in university that I became very familiar with not only the varied techniques of Stella Adler, Uta Hagen, and Constantin Stanislavski, but also contemporary masters like Susan Batson, Harold Guskin, Larry Moss, and Ivana Chubbuck.
My intention with this service is to help actors get the most out of their performance. Through insightful discussion and a keen dissection of the script they have been given to work with, I will customize my approach to the actor's specific needs, and assist them in taking their character from the page into a three-dimensional living creation.
I love watching actors hit new heights of emotion, specificity, and risk that they might not have believed possible. The lightbulb moment where the actors says, yes, I understand my character better than I thought I could.
I started by coaching friends and fellow students on their various roles. Once I saw that my process actually connected with them and yielded exciting results, it gave me the confidence to move forward.
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Connecticut, in Storrs, CT. In addition to my formal training, I have 25 years of experience in regional and community theatre.

When I am first starting out with a client, my intention is to talk about the play/musical/monologue with them. My first questions will regard their intuitive opinions on the character, so I expect them to have already read the script to get an idea of what specifically we can work on.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Have you read the script? What are your immediate thoughts of the character you're playing? What made you decide to pursue this particular role? In the general craft of acting, what are your specific roadblocks?

Rob is the kind of actor you want to have in your cast. He comes to the table with ideas. He enjoys and contributes to a collaborative rehearsal setting. Rob is always open to new and challenging ideas and incorporates them immediately into his character/situation and is never afraid of a challenge. A true professional. Highly recommended!
Supremely talented, extremely bright, and very hard working — Rob is a pleasure to work with. He is a great collaborator, and does his homework, always looking to make connections and honor the work. One of my favorite actors to have directed and coached.
Rob is one of the most open-minded, sharply intelligent, and imaginative people I have ever had the good fortune to work with. His generosity and warmth make for a supportive and safe environment, as he pushed me to be bold in my choices, honest in my work, and to play and create freely. Thanks to him, I was able to find a specificity, purpose, and depth of character that I wouldn't have otherwise discovered. He is, in the truest sense, a gem.
Rob is a sensitive and generous artist who is continually searching, exploring, and risking. He is devoted to discovering the true raw core of the character, and in response to his fearless dedication, I have found myself doing some of my best work while working with him. He is an inspiration both onstage and in person.
Robert is an artist that dives head first into every venture with skill, craftsmanship, and sheer talent. Though even-tempered, he is not a performer that is ever satisfied. He strives to go deeper, become more truthful and make brave choices that are most impactful at any given moment resulting in a visceral, magnetic performance. I have found Rob to be warm, kind, and generous both on stage and off, and believe he has much to share with any actor who works with him.
