About Caitlin

For over a decade I have worked with students of all ages in multiple theatrical capacities because theatre in youth is a major passion of mine. Nearly every summer, I have served as a counselor for the summer creative drama camp and performance intensive hosted by my alma mater. Last year, I had the pleasure of accepting the role of co-director of Summer Spotlight "Mini-Spots," the 6-7 year old age group of creative drama camp. I led classes every day, choreographed their end of the week showcase, and was entrusted to care for over 20 6-7 year olds.

While I have always loved working with young kids, I have also thoroughly enjoyed working with students at the high school level, leading workshops and classes for theatre camps, and working as a talent, self expression, and interview coach for participants of the Distinguished Young Women program.

I have also taught at the collegiate level for the past 3 years through my Graduate Teaching Assistantship at my MFA Acting program. I have taught Intro to Theatre, Beginning Acting, and Acting I and have truly loved working with students at each level.

Teaching brings me immense joy and I would love a chance to use the skills I've learned over the years to help you be the best actor you can be.

Teaching is a deeply rewarding privilege I have had the opportunity to experience over the past few years. In my classroom environment, I prioritize safety, compassion, curiosity, empowerment, and failure. I want my students to feel safe, heard, and valued when they are learning because I believe their comfortability is of the utmost importance for them to do their best work and be their best selves.

Watching my students take ownership of their work and realize failure isn't something to fear, but to embrace is one of my favorite parts of the work. Acting is considered a craft for a reason. This art form is a skill to be learned and can be learned by anyone. Let me be the teacher who empowers you to take the next step :)

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management and an Associate of Performing Arts from Troy University.

As of May 2022, I will have a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre with a concentration of Acting from the University of Alabama.

I have also worked with students of all ages in multiple theatrical settings for over ten years leading workshops, serving as a creative drama camp counselor, and coaching students through their different acting needs.

About the lesson

I have worked with students of all experience levels from beginner to advanced, ages 6-23 years old, and ranging neurodivergent needs!
