About Elisha
I have done local theater since I was 8 and loved it so much I continued learning through college. On the way, I was a part of a magnet school for theater and becoming a Thespian. I have experience in teaching theater at the Taylor gymnastics, cheer, and dance studio and will help all ages learn the basics and more from the physical part of theater to the emotional. If it to just start learning or if you would like to work and improve on a monologue for an audition I will be here to help you achieve your goals.
I have always found theater amazing. When you are on stage and the adrenaline you get and all the lights, but mostly being able to become someone so different from yourself. You have the power to make people feel. When I was younger theater got me through a lot and if I am able to share that with others I think it will all be worth it.
I felt there were not enough arts in Taylor county and when I found out that the Taylor dance studio also taught theater I reach out and began working with them.
I have extensive theater and musical theater training. I have worked with and taught ages 9 thru 57. Outside of theater I have worked with younger kids in after school programs and volunteering as a girl scout leader.

About the lesson

At the begining, I like to get to know you followed by a warm-up. From there I will start from the beginning on what you would like to learn or improve on. If it is general basic theater I will usually start with working on learning physical theater-like pantomime. If you want to work on a monologue, depending on how far along the process you are I will first work on characterization. Each person is different I will look to show off your strengths and better your weaknesses.
I have mainly taught children in middle to high school age, however, have worked with all ages.
