About Tony

MFA in Acting 1989. AEA, SAG/AFTRA. 29 years active in Chicago theatre.

Acting has been a part of my life since 1966 when I was a Freshman in high school. My undergraduate BA was in Speech and Theatre Education. I have an MFA in Design and Technical Theatre from The Ohio State University and an MFA in Acting from Wayne State University (Detroit). I have been fortunate to work professionally in Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin. I have performed more than 30 works of Bernard Shaw. I have taught, acting, voice, Theatre History, and all phases of design. I have over 20 years of teaching experience.

I have loved teaching for over 40 years. Seeing student gain confidence in themselves and progress in there performance skills is a great satisfaction to me.

My undergraduate degree (BA) is in Speech and Theatre Education (Secondary).
I have an MFA in Design and Technical Theatre (1977) and an MFA in Acting (1989).

I have 20 years of teaching experience on the university level.

About the lesson

I talk to the student about their experience, goals and hope for the session. Then I ask them to perform/read something so I can form an opinion of where they are in their journey.

I began a Zoom Play-Reading group in March, called Ubiquitous Players. We alternate new and "classic" plays. We meet on Friday evenings for Discussion/Q&A and the Readings are Saturday at 2:00 pm CST.

Our core company is about 20, but we have more than 40 on our mailing list.

We are also lucky enough to have 9 (count 'em nine) playwrights in the group.

This group has kept a number of theatre professionals sane and active during the time of this pandemic.
