About Wayne

I've always been intensely interested in human behavior

I studied at Boston University, and I've been lucky enough to work steadily, in every capacity this business has to offer. Theater, film, tv, commercials, hosting. I'm always working.

I write. I find that it's a vital part to telling stories, being an interpreter of dialogue. Writing what's true for you is important to help you dive deeper, make richer choices.

Word of mouth. I started helping friends with auditions, then noticed I was logged a lot of hours. I decided to open up this new found creative outlet to see who else may want to come and get a boost in their craft. It really just feels like I'm helping out.

I went to Boston University, BFA in acting. I have a degree in classical theater, musical theater, tv and film.

About the lesson

The first step is listening to the needs and desires of what my student is looking for.

The next step is offering a dialogue about how my student sees a way to whatever the desired result is.

The third step is working and developing a practice that will, eventually, not include me as a teacher. I teach students to be self-sustainable in creating characters, storytelling, and auditioning to book work.

I've only worked with working actors, and graduate students.

Be patient with yourself. A lot of times, the right teacher and the right student are both looking for a common language that makes sense. If you don't find it in me, there will be someone else you click with. Just keep going. It only means you're seeking for answers, and that's always a good adventure. Always rewarding.

I recently coached a tv show runner for an audition he was asked to give. The part he was auditioning for was written for him, by a friend (a fellow showrunner), and he wasn't as secure with his acting as he was with his writing. He learned, in the end, to trust his instincts and to play himself very well.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What roles do you see for yourself? Don't limit yourself to ideas of gender, age, "type" (whatever that means).

How did you first get interested in being an actor. What was that spark that made you go, " I can do this"?

How much time/effort are you willing to put into this training? How far do you want to go?

If there was not such thing as being magically "discovered" by a casting director, producer, director, just out of the blue- would you still want to do it? Does acting and storytelling enrich your life so much you would work hard to prove that you could do it, without being complimented or told that you're going to be a star?
