About Drew

I am well versed in every major technique. Meisner, Strasberg, Stella Adler, Stanivslaski, Chekhov, Practical Aesthetics, Uta Hagen, and more. I have been teaching for the past 4 years now. I have a bachelors in Musical Theatre/Acting from Shenandoah Conservatory, a certificate in the meisner technique from the True Acting Institute, and an acting certificate from the Moscow Art Theatre.

I love helping people achieve their goals while maintaining and enforcing a love and joy for acting. I love the work and the process of getting to a brilliant performance! It's fun to me!!!

It was an accident! I never thought that I would become a teacher. In school, I directed a small 10 minute play through a student run organization and fell in love with directing! A statement I never thought I'd say!! As I started a theater company and as I started directing full productions, people started to turn to me for coaching's and advice. I would help fellow students and friends with their preparation work with auditions for the schools season. They found success in their auditions and callbacks and started sending more people my way! I just wanted to help others find freedom and joy in the work and to help them unlock their true potential! Through all of the training and word of mouth "reviews" going around about my work the conservatory decided to hire me to co-teach Freshman and Sophomore acting alongside one of the brilliant professors. After that, I've been in love with it ever cents. Like I said, I fell into it by accident and in that accident I fell in love!

I studied at Shenandoah Conservatory (B.F.A.), The True Acting institute, Warner Loughlin Studios, and The Moscow Art Theatre in Russia. I also what is the associate artistic director at a theater company that I helped to start with a dear friend of mine. There, I directed and taught many many students. I also co-taught Freshman and Sophomore Acting at Shenandoah Conservatory my senior year. I have been learned from those who coach actors such as Amy Adams, Andrew Garfield, Ryan Reynolds, Patrick Wilson, Zooey Deschanel, Emma Roberts, Merle Dandrige, and more! I will use all I have learned from these people and places to give you the tools you need to accomplish your goals!

About the lesson

It depends on the student! I'll talk with them and get an idea of the goals that they want to accomplish. Then, through learning about their skill level and experience, I make an assessment of tools that I think would best suit that individual to achieve what it is they are seeking to achieve! But again, it all depends on the individual. No person is the same and so no process works for every single person.

All kinds. All ages, genders, skill levels, etc. I've worked with people auditioning for their community theater production, their high school production, preparing for college auditions, preparing for auditioning for their college musical/theater season, helping with character/script work for leading a national tour, helping prepare for their call back for a Broadway show, and so much more!

My advice would be to make sure that you personally feel comfortable with the teacher that you want to hire. While this is an incredibly fun thing it is also an extremely vulnerable thing. We find pathways to our success through failing in this medium so you need somebody who you feel comfortable enough to be there to hold your hand and that you feel wants nothing but the best for you. You also want them to believe in you and want you to succeed!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Just think about what it is that you want to achieve! What are your goals? Short term? Preparing for something a couple months down the road? Thinking long-term and just wanting to take acting lessons for a career that you want in several years? Come in knowing what you want so I can give that to you!
