About Bobby

I am a professional, New York City actor, who has worked on several television shows that aired nationally and internationally. I have also appeared in several feature films and had the opportunity to audition for network (ABC, NBC, CBS) television shows.

I am signed with a reputable agency and management team in New York City. I have studied at the New York Film Academy and also have done numerous workshops with well-known casting directors in both New York City and Los Angeles.

Prior to becoming an actor, I was a general news reporter for NBC in Atlantic City, New Jersey and CBS in Charleston, South Carolina. As a news reporter, I was doing live, television broadcasts on a daily basis, which required quick improvisation and exceptional on-camera skills.

I love acting. I am incredibly passionate about exploring different characters and personalities throught different techniques. I stay true to the Meisner method, being yourself under imaginary circumstances.

If you choose me as a teacher, I can help coach you on a variety of aspects related to acting. We can help find the perfect monologue for you and explore many different choices and impulses that will make the piece perfect for you. We can run the monologue until it becomes second nature, and we can also find contrasting monologues so you can become a diversified actor, with different tools in your belt.

I love exploring different characters and making bold choices in my work. One day you could be a police officer and the next you could be a thief. Imagination is something I have always loved to use, and that's why I love acting!

I studied acting at the New York Film Academy where I performed in nearly 20 different short films. I also have studied with dozens of Casting Directors, writers and directors, at a variety of workshops in both NYC and LA. In these workshops we studied technique, impulses,and character choices, for TV, Commercial, Film and Stage.

About the lesson

First, I would present the student with a variety of monologues and commercial copy and have the student do a cold read so I can get a feel for the students strengths and weaknesses. Then, I will find what we need to specifically work on with that student. Does he/she have an bad habbits or nervous ticks that could distract a casting director at an audition? Is the student "acting" too much, meaning he/she is not being natural?

After getting a better understanding of the student, I will find a monologue or scene that suites well for the student and will spend a substantial amount of time working on that so it can be professionally performed at an audition. I also will allow the student to bring in material that he or she wishes to work on.
