About Yani
Our theater company focuses on the developing acting skills for children from 3 to 17 years old in the Miami area who are fluent or want to start developing the Spanish language since all classes are in Spanish.
For us, all families should get their kids close to the performing arts and specificly to theater because it opens the doors to creation!
Classic tales, musical works, different dances are some of the styles offered by the children's theater and surely children will be more attracted to one and/or the other. In our classes we make kids exercise their own thinking as you try to understand what the play means while increasing their self-esteem, they learn to respect and work together as a team player. Also through our methods they learn to control their emotions, discover what is discipline and perseverance at work.
Our acting lessons can also be used to:
1 - Reinforce academic tasks such as reading and literature.
2 - Update the child in subjects such as language, art and history.
3 - Help in the socialization of children, especially those who have difficulty communicating.
4 - Improve children's concentration and attention.
5 - Transmit and instill values.
6 - Encourage children to reflect.
7 - Encourage the use of children's senses.
8 - Motivate the exercise of thinking.
9 - Stimulate creativity and imagination.
10 - Make children feel more secure.
11 - Help the children to play with their fantasy.
The best age for children to start attending our classes is from the age of three.
At this age, the child will be able to focus little by little and his memory power is high. Children absorb everything they listen.
Hello, my name is Yani Martin and I'm the president and founder of Para Bajitos Inc. a nonprofit organization dedicated to produce and promote the performance arts among kids in the Miami area, and yes, I will be your kid's acting teacher!
I graduated from the National School of Cuban Art in 1999 and since graduating at 18 years old (Im now 38) I started working profesionally and haven't stopped ever since.
Starting in 2000 I host a children's TV show called "Sopa de Palabras" on national television being "On Air" for 14 years.
I have worked with several TV and theater companies in the city of Miami like Telemundo, AmericaTV, Arca Images, Teatro Avante; just to mention a few receiving awards and recognitions such as: Revelation Actress and award for Best Female Performance, with the play: "El Ultimo Bolero"
I have been in the last 3 year's Miami International Hispanic Theater Festival representing Avante Theater productions participating in overseas festivals like the Ibero-American Festival of Cadiz.
