About Marissa
Powered by inspiration to reveal the inner artist in you! I have worked professionally in the performing arts since 2004. My experience has been in full range and scope with an awareness of how all sides of the creative process work independently and collaboratively.
I have a strong sense of approaching technique holistically and a deep passion for training creative intuition and instinctual artistry.
I enjoy bridging the space between marketing/branding, conscious embodiment, and mindful collaboration.
I tailor classes, lessons, and workshops to the interests and needs of my students.
(concealed information)
I began choreographing and directing in college and it was a smooth transition into teaching from there! I have mostly moved into different teaching positions by word of mouth over the years.

I like to spend the first 20-40 minutes getting to know one another. How you respond to the style(s) of performance practice we are looking to explore together. What calls you to the work - is it emotional, spiritual, experiential?
Once I get a good idea about your connection to wanting to learn, then I like to hear about and get a sense of where you would like to focus. Would you like to deepen into craft? Do you want to focus on self-confidence and grounding your nerves? Or do you get overwhelmed/stuck and need some tools/resources to approach creative blocks?
Once we establish the why and what - then, I can pull up some practical games and process-oriented options on how to practice together.
I like to work from a place of releasing pressure and expectation while staying consciously aware of what is present and working with you from a place of welcoming, encouragement, and non-judgmental feedback. This allows you to get to know yourself and the way you best like to show up within the work we do together!
I have worked with students of all ages and levels. My ideal student is someone who cares as much about their inner life as their outer expression. I thrive with creative spirits who long to live more complete lives by accessing parts of themselves through the arts!
What matters most is your own inner-relationship to the craft.
I have recently been hosting virtual circles for artists where we gather, connect, share, and process around a theme! I really love bringing people together in an inclusive and gentle atmosphere where we can feel safe, seen, and a part of something nourishing together.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Always ask yourself "why" - if an attuned teacher knows your "why" they can better see where support, options, and new information could serve you best!
