About Accent Man

While pursuing voice over I engineered for a number of voice acting classes, where students started asking for my advice and input and teachers started asking me to direct the talent more and more. When I realized I had a gift for breaking down accents in ways that made sense to people, I started Accent Man Coaching during the pandemic, which has grown to help countless actors prepare for auditions, develop characters, and find the confidence to break from always 'playing themselves.'

About the lesson

For Accents I have six-week course to help develop characters.

Accent reduction is a quick analysis of the voice, diagnosis, and assigning goals, exercises, and tricks for eliminating the accent.

All classes will be 50% discussion and 50% practice.

It's important that students understand why they are doing what they are doing so they can practice effectively.

We will read scripts together, discuss them, play with them and expierment.

Advanced students will improvise at the end of lessons.

All ages, genders, and locations. Some are foreigners looking to sound more American, men trying to sound manlier, women trying to lose their upspeak and vocal fry, actors trying to gain new skills, and professionals trying to sound more professional.

If there's something you want to do to your voice, I can help.

Make sure you aren't just learning sounds to replace other sounds with.

A good dialect coach gives you and understanding of why your character would make the sounds they make, and stress that the performance of the culture is as important as the sound of the accent.

A good voice acting teacher will challenge your choices and give you different directions to try

I will occasionally host specialized clinics on various accents at a discounted price so students will get all the information they need to get get started mastering an accent.

We did a whole seminar on the various dialects of the UK that was very popular and fun.
