About Todd

I have been involved in theatre and musical theatre pretty much my entire life. I have acted in many Grand Rapids area community theatre productions (winning several acting awards), and acted professionally in local commercials and with the Missoula Children's Theatre (based in Missoula, Montana). Recently retired, I taught theatre and public speaking and directed nearly 200 productions for over 31 years at Jenison High School and Farwell Area High School in Michigan. I was awarded Michigan Theatre Educator of the Year by the Michigan Educational Theatre Association in 2013.

My favorite part of either the acting or directing process is script and character analysis. Finding out what makes a character tick and then producing that on stage is a huge thrill. There are seldom any "wrong" choices, but I enjoy discovering the "strongest" choice!

I would be happy to help with choosing and rehearsing audition pieces (monologues and songs), help you with a role you are currently rehearsing, listen to your playwriting ideas, nail a dialect, discuss theatre history or theatrical terminology, or your future in the performing arts.

I'm happy to meet with you in person in your home if you have the COVID vaccine and we are both masked or meet via ZOOM. I have been vaccinated and fully boosted. If you need help with anything theatre related, I can be of assistance!
