I have been an actor for over 25 years. In my time acting, I began at the church/school level, grew into professional stage work (both acting and directing), then transitioned into professional wrestling and then the world of Indie Film. In my time working, I have worked on or appeared in projects with the likes of Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead Series, Burn Notice), Eileen Dietz (The Exorcist, Helter Skelter TV Film), Lloyd Kaufman (President of Troma Films and Creator of The Toxic Avenger) and many more. I also have a work history in professional wrestling, convention appearances, and FM radio. I have a worked with people from all over, with all types backgrounds. I feel as that gives me the ability to relate to anyone at any level and find their strength and help them develop it.

I have loved acting since the second I began my first production - the acting bug bit hard. To me, there is nothing better than finding a way to create a character that may be the polar opposite of yourself. In that challenge, it forces us to examine ourselves and our world view. It gives us the ability to become someone else without losing ourselves to a false self. Acting is freeing and fun, but also a lot of work. If you're willing to put in the work, I am happy to work with you!

I live by a simple motto in acting: Make others better so you have better others to work with. I first taught as a director working with a small troupe that was based in Fort Wayne, IN. Many of the other actors were young, and wanted to learn, so we spent 30 minutes of each rehersal going over developing or refining skills. From there, I co-lead the group until we found a space and created the former Firehouse Theater. For the 1st 6 months I was managing director of the theater until family issues forced me to step away. I have also been the operations manager of a now defunct theater in Goshen, IN, was the former president of the board of directors for The Lakes Area Players in Syracuse, and taught 2 years of a drama class to 6th grade students at Millersburg Elementary from 2016 to 2017.

I have 25 years of work in various facets of the entertainment industry.

About the lesson

The first meeting is mostly a getting to know you session with some basic exercises. From there, I do a second class to determine strengths and weaknesses in characterization. From there out, we work on basics, methodology, creating characters, the business side of acting on the indies and professionally and more. I can also help prep for auditions as needed.

Details

$25 per hour is my standard rate for lessons. Usually 1 lesson a week is the norm, but have had people do 3 a week. Beyond that, I would work out special pricing.
