About Smyan

Hi! I’m Smyan, a dedicated student with a passion for math, biology, and coding. I’ve spent years tutoring middle and high school students in Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, and introductory Python programming, helping them build confidence and achieve academic success. Beyond tutoring, I’m deeply involved in STEM and public health initiatives, including leading student research programs and nonprofit projects. This experience allows me to bring real-world applications into lessons, making learning both practical and engaging. I focus on personalized teaching, adapting to each student’s pace and learning style, so every session is productive and inspiring. I’m committed to helping students not just understand the material, but truly master it—turning challenges into achievements and curiosity into confidence.

About the lesson

Teaching Method & Techniques:
I focus on personalized, interactive learning. I break complex concepts into manageable steps, use real-world examples, and integrate hands-on exercises, coding projects, and problem-solving to make lessons engaging. I encourage questions, discussions, and active participation so students not only understand but can apply what they learn.

Typical Lesson Plan:

Warm-Up (5–10 min): Review previous material or key concepts.

Core Lesson (20–30 min): Introduce new topics with explanations, examples, and practice problems.

Hands-On Practice (10–15 min): Work through exercises together, including Python coding for relevant lessons.

Review & Recap (5 min): Summarize key points and assign practice or mini-projects for reinforcement.

What Sets Me Apart:
I bring a unique combination of academic knowledge, coding experience, and real-world project experience. With 3+ years of tutoring experience and a background in math, biology, and software development, I adapt my teaching to each student’s pace, learning style, and goals. I also incorporate practical applications to show how concepts connect beyond the classroom.

Who the Lessons Are For:
My lessons are designed for middle school to high school students seeking support in Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, Biology, and introductory Python programming. Lessons are perfect for students preparing for exams, tackling challenging coursework, or looking to develop practical skills in STEM subjects.
