About Tutor

Hello!
Are you looking for support in science, math, or navigating competitive academic pathways such as college admissions or fellowship applications? Whether you’re building foundations in high school, tackling advanced undergraduate or graduate coursework, or preparing strong applications, I’m here to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

I am a science and math tutor with extensive academic and research experience across top institutions. I earned my Master’s degree on a full-ride scholarship from Texas A&M University and completed my Ph.D. at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC). Professionally, I have worked as a scientist at Stanford University and UC Berkeley, and have collaborated with organizations including NASA, where I was also selected as a NASA Fellow.

For authenticity and background, you’re welcome to view my LinkedIn profile here:

About the lesson

I am a science and math tutor and have recently moved from California to Kansas. I bring several years of tutoring experience, working with students from high school through undergraduate level. My background allows me to support students across a wide academic spectrum — from foundational math and science to advanced college and graduate-level coursework. Beyond subject mastery, I bring a strong understanding of how science is applied in real research environments, which helps students truly understand why they are learning what they are learning.

In addition to tutoring, I have significant experience with competitive academic writing, including college admissions materials, fellowship and scholarship applications, and research statements. Having successfully navigated and secured highly competitive programs myself, I guide students through the strategy, structure, and clarity needed to stand out.

My teaching style is:
- Concept-driven, not memorization-based
- Highly personalized, adapting to each student’s learning style and goals
- Focused on critical thinking, problem-solving, and exam strategy, which are essential in today’s education system

Subjects Offered
- Basic & Advanced Math
- AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics
- College-level Science & Math
- Graduate-level Coursework
- College Admissions & Fellowship Application Consulting
