About the lesson

I am a graduate with a Bachelor of Social Sciences Degree with Double Majors in Psychology and Sociology from Rhodes University. I am currently registered with the South African Council for Social Services Professionals. I am presently in the completion of my Post Graduate studies (Honours) in the Practice of Social Work. I am also registered for I – to – I TEFL Diploma: Combined which is in the process of completion. My TEFL Diploma has specializations in teaching Business English and Teaching One-To-One & Online. I have national experience as I have participated in educational outreach programmes whilst being a peer - educator and wellness leader throughout my academic duration at Rhodes University. Having completed my Degree, it had greatly equipped me with the opportunity of being a teacher at a Secondary School in Durban. I got to educate the, strengthen relationship-building with my students and their parents in relation to the students’ progress and promote the importance of effective time management. I was able to facilitate lessons of the subjects English and Social Sciences. I also provided part-time tutoring to Matric students to ensure the undivided attention was being provided to them in ensuring positive results are achievable.
Education helps the youth become understanding towards the environment and the situationsthat can become challenging to them in the future. As such, it helps equip them to focus on becoming strong, powerful, confident and brave in realizing the World is their Oyster. They are liberated towards appreciating knowledge.
I have experience in teaching children and adults. My aim is to ensure that my students are educated and enjoy the experience of learning. Teaching has made me a much more out spoken individual, it has thought me how to teach students and broaden their minds in an aspect of appreciating education in a patient and compassionate manner. Education is key to change, success and ensuring positivism is achievable. The positive input being highlighted within the education system brings about the motive for learners to step out and become educated, thus inspiring leadership. I have a passion for helping others through the education and social welfare disciplines of practise. By having years of experience in working with the NGO sector, it has helped me develop my understanding and focus in providing effective education whilst equipping my students with the appreciation of knowledge. I believe the secret to getting ahead is getting started.
