About Ajuorah
I am a tutor with a strong academic background in Mathematics, Physics, and the sciences, as well as over five years of tutoring experience. My interest in tutoring comes from a genuine appreciation for learning and the satisfaction of helping others understand concepts that once seemed difficult or intimidating.
Throughout my academic journey, Mathematics and Physics have played an important role in developing my analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. I have earned A and B grades across relevant university-level Mathematics, Physics, and engineering courses, achieved a GPA of 4.67/5.00 in my most recent academic session, and an initial GPA of 5.00/5.00.
Beyond my academic qualifications, I understand that knowing a subject and being able to explain it effectively are two different things. Over the years, tutoring has taught me the importance of patience, clear communication, adaptability, and understanding each student's individual learning needs. I enjoy finding different ways to explain a concept until it becomes clearer, helping students recognize their own progress, and encouraging them to approach unfamiliar problems with greater confidence.
I tutor Mathematics and Physics as my primary subjects and can also support students in Chemistry and General Science at appropriate levels. I am comfortable helping learners strengthen their foundations, improve their understanding of challenging topics, develop effective problem-solving techniques, and prepare for assessments and examinations.
As a tutor, I value consistency, mutual respect, and meaningful progress. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, expressing difficulties, and learning from mistakes without feeling judged. I also believe that effective tutoring should equip students with the skills to think independently, rather than make them dependent on someone else to provide answers.
Outside tutoring, my engineering studies continue to expose me to the practical application of mathematical and scientific principles, reinforcing my appreciation for understanding concepts beyond memorization.
Whether you are looking for support with schoolwork, stronger academic foundations, or more structured examination preparation, I would be glad to help you work towards your learning goals. I look forward to creating a positive learning experience where understanding, confidence, and progress go hand in hand.

My lessons are designed to help students develop a genuine understanding of their subjects, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and become more confident and independent learners.
With over five years of tutoring experience and an academic background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, I bring both practical teaching experience and a strong foundation in Mathematics and the sciences. I understand that students learn differently: while some need help building foundational knowledge, others understand the concepts but struggle to apply them to unfamiliar questions or examinations. My approach is to identify each student's specific needs and tailor lessons accordingly.
My teaching approach
I begin by understanding the student's current level, learning goals, areas of difficulty, and curriculum. From there, I structure lessons around their needs rather than following a rigid, one-size-fits-all approach.
I break complex concepts into smaller, manageable steps, explain the reasoning behind formulas and methods, and use worked examples to connect theory with application. Students then practise similar questions with my guidance before progressing to solving problems independently. I encourage questions throughout the lesson and make sure students have the opportunity to address misunderstandings without feeling pressured or embarrassed.
What students can expect
- Clear, step-by-step explanations of challenging concepts.
- Personalised lessons suited to their current ability, pace, and goals.
- Guided practice and progressively challenging questions.
- Support with homework, assignments, revision, and examination preparation, where appropriate.
- Help identifying knowledge gaps and strengthening foundational skills.
- Practice applying concepts to unfamiliar questions instead of relying solely on memorisation.
- Constructive feedback, regular review, and guidance on areas that need further attention.
Subjects I teach
My main areas of focus are Mathematics and Physics. In Mathematics, I can support students with topics including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and other areas appropriate to their level. In Physics, I cover topics such as mechanics, motion, forces, energy, electricity and magnetism, waves, and optics. I can also provide support in Chemistry and General Science, depending on the student's level and curriculum.
Whether a student is trying to strengthen their foundations, keep up with schoolwork, prepare for an important examination, or tackle more advanced material, my goal is to help them understand not only what to do, but why it works.
I aim to create a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving at their own pace. Ultimately, I want every student to leave lessons better equipped to approach their work with understanding, confidence, and independence.
