About Wentao
I recently completed my Master’s degree in Computer Science at Lakehead University and have previous experience as an A-Level Mathematics Teaching Assistant. In that role, I supported students with homework, class preparation, and one-on-one learning, which helped me understand the importance of patience, clear explanations, and encouragement in teaching.
I have a strong background in both mathematics and computer science, and I enjoy helping students turn difficult topics into something more manageable and understandable. I always try to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes, and improving step by step.
I take each lesson seriously and prepare based on the student’s level, goals, and current challenges. I can help with middle school and high school mathematics, including Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus, and A-Level Mathematics, as well as beginner Python and introductory programming.
My goal is to be a reliable and supportive tutor who helps students improve not only their grades but also their understanding and confidence in the subject.

I like to keep my lessons relaxed, clear, and interactive. My goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to make sure they understand why the method works. I usually break difficult ideas into smaller steps, use simple examples, and encourage students to ask questions at any time.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in to see what the student is currently working on and what they find difficult. We may review homework or a previous topic first, then go through new concepts together. After that, I usually let the student try a few questions on their own while I guide them when needed. Before finishing, we review the main ideas and make sure the student feels comfortable with the topic.
My lessons are mainly for middle school and high school students, including Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus, and A-Level Mathematics. I can also help beginners with Python and introductory programming. Whether a student wants help with homework, test preparation, or simply wants to understand the subject better, I will adjust the lesson to their needs and learning pace.
