About Jiya

Hi, I'm Jiya, a 17-year-old incoming university student, going on to study Statistics, Economics and Finance at UCL. I’ve just finished my A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science (in which I have 4 A*s predicted) — so all the content is fresh, and I know exactly what it takes to succeed in the current exam system. I have also achieved high grades (8s and 9s) in the following GCSE subjects: Maths, English language, English Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, German, Spanish, Geography, Religious Studies and Computer Science.

About the lesson

I tutor Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science at both GCSE and A-level, with a strong focus on helping students improve their exam performance. My lessons are structured around understanding the content first, then applying it through carefully chosen past paper questions — because real progress comes from practice with the kind of questions you're likely to face. My approach is always adaptive. Whether you're struggling with the basics or pushing for top grades, I’ll tailor our sessions to your pace, needs and goals. I focus not just on the “how”, but the “why”, so you leave with a deeper understanding, not just memorised steps. The aim? To help you boost your grades, build confidence, and become more independent in your learning. I am passionate about these subjects and enjoy breaking them down in a way that makes them feel less intimidating and more manageable. I can additionally provide high-quality advice on Personal Statements and university applications. I am also happy to accommodate a range of lesson times, as per the student's availability.
