I specialize in helping students not only learn how to play guitar but truly understand music as a language. My teaching approach is patient, practical, and tailored to your unique goals—whether you're just picking up the guitar for the first time, or you're looking to break through creative blocks and reach the next level in your playing. With a strong foundation in music theory, songwriting, and ear training, I equip students with tools they can use far beyond our lessons—whether they want to perform live, record, or simply enjoy playing confidently at home. You can expect well-structured, engaging lessons that meet you right where you are—backed by real-world experience, proven teaching strategies, and a genuine passion for seeing students grow. I’m here to help you stay motivated, build real skills, and enjoy the journey of learning guitar. Let’s build your sound, your confidence, and your love for music—one chord at a time.

As a guitar teacher with over a decade of performance experience, I approach teaching with patience, flexibility, and a strong focus on the student’s individual learning style. My primary goal is to make learning the guitar enjoyable and accessible, ensuring that you feel motivated and confident every step of the way.

I believe in the power of breaking down complex concepts into manageable, bite-sized lessons. Whether you’re learning basic chords, music theory, or tackling your favorite songs, I always aim to make each lesson practical and fun. I also encourage students to develop a strong ear for music so that they can learn songs by listening, which builds a deeper understanding of how music works.

Teaching Method and Techniques:

Personalized Approach: I tailor each lesson to the student’s goals, whether you're a beginner eager to learn chords or an intermediate player looking to enhance your soloing skills.
Song-Based Learning: I incorporate your favorite songs into lessons, making learning enjoyable and directly applicable. This helps students stay engaged and see real progress.
Music Theory Integration: I integrate music theory directly into practical guitar exercises, helping students understand how to apply theory to their playing. This includes understanding scales, intervals, and chord progressions.
Ear Training: I emphasize ear training, helping students recognize chords, progressions, and melodies by ear, which is an essential skill for any musician.
Typical Lesson Plan:

Warm-Up (5-10 minutes): Finger exercises and basic scales to build dexterity.
Core Lesson (20-30 minutes): Depending on the student’s focus, we might work on specific techniques, song progressions, or music theory.
Application and Practice (10-15 minutes): Applying what we’ve learned by working through a song, a progression, or improvising.
Review and Goal Setting (5 minutes): At the end of each lesson, we’ll review what we’ve covered and set clear goals for the next session.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:

Real-World Experience: With years of live performance and recording experience, I bring a practical, performance-oriented approach to lessons. I don’t just teach theory; I show students how to use it in the real world of music.
Flexible Learning Style: I adapt to how each student learns best, whether through structured practice, improvisation, or exploring different genres. Every student gets a customized experience.
Focus on Motivation: I understand the challenges of learning a new instrument, and I make sure each lesson leaves students feeling accomplished and excited for the next one.
