About Clifford

I'm a language teacher based in Nova Scotia. Outside of private tutoring I coach sports and I'm a mental health advocate — different settings, but the same thread runs through all of it: helping people feel capable. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about where they come from, which is really what drew me to languages in the first place.

I've learned a language from scratch as an adult myself, and that experience shapes how I teach — patiently, clearly, and without skipping the basics. My lessons follow a proper plan rather than an improvised chat, and I've spent the past five years helping complete beginners get a real foothold in German. I enjoy this work, and I think that comes across in how the sessions feel.

About the lesson

My German lessons are built for beginners who want a solid foundation rather than scattered vocabulary. I focus on making the difficult parts simple; word order, the cases, pronunciation, and on keeping lessons interactive, so you're speaking, listening, reading and writing from early on. Once you book, you also have access to the audio and practice materials I teach from, so you can keep working between our sessions.

My students learn German for travel, work, family or simply out of interest, and I adapt the pace to each person. Having learned a language from scratch myself as an adult, I understand what the early stages feel like, and I keep lessons relaxed and encouraging. The first lesson is free, so we can look at where you're starting and what you'd like to achieve.

Clifford was my German teacher for a period of 4months, 4years ago.

He’s pretty good at what he does; very enthusiastic, fluent, an active listener and very disciplined in his teaching mannerism.

recommend Clifford to other Superproof members. Try him and thank me later
