About Claire
I am a caring, kind, and thoughtful tutor with a fun-loving nature and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. I enjoy discovering new things, trying new experiences, and sharing that curiosity with the students I work with. I particularly enjoy working with children and young people and value the time I spend with my family, which strongly influences my patient and supportive approach to teaching.
Through my charity work, I regularly work with children and young adults, and I firmly believe that every learner deserves the opportunity to progress at their own pace. I encourage curiosity-led learning and use hands-on, engaging activities to build confidence, understanding, and enjoyment in learning.
I have had over 20 years in the IT industry (as an IT Project Manager, Analyst and Software/Data Engineer) and during this time have mentored others to reach their full potential. I am a professional member of the British Computer Society. I completed a Teaching Certificate, after finishing my MSc, and have taught the BCS European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) qualification at a local college and enjoy keeping up to date with current technologies.
I aim to create a supportive, structured, and positive learning environment where students feel encouraged to succeed.

I take a supportive and flexible approach to private tutoring, combining theory with practical exercises to help students fully understand each topic. I adapt my teaching methods to suit different learning styles and focus on building confidence as well as subject knowledge. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and include explanations, worked examples, and interactive tasks. With experience in software development, data analysis, and technical training, I can support learners from beginner to intermediate level, including school, college, and adult learners.
