About Ashley
I am a graduate student at Teachers College, Columbia University pursuing a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics and TESOL. I graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Cognitive Science, and have a minor in Psychology.
I am skilled in various technical areas, including programming languages such as Python, SQL and R, statistical software like SPSS, and natural language processing. Additionally, I hold certifications in TCSOL and SAS Base, and I am fluent in both English and Mandarin.
With a wealth of experience as a language teacher, I have honed my skills in implementing task-based language teaching methods, developing a dual-teacher system for practice and assessment, and analyzing student scores. I have also worked as an English researcher and teacher at a tech company (Shenzhen Wumii Technology Limited), where I taught live stream English class and developed an English curriculum based on CEFR and produced over 400 lesson plans.
In addition to my teaching experience, I have also gained valuable skills through work and project experience in consulting and real estate companies. These experiences have allowed me to sharpen my analytical, administrative, teamwork and communication skills.

Students will have opportunities to learn and practice authentic English by engaging in interactive real-life scenarios. I will design my lessons tailoring to meet students' needs and interests. In addition to integrated language skills, I also help students build confidence, enhance learning autonomy, and encourage a love of learning.
