About Erin
I am in my twenties and a resident of Cambridge, MA. I moved to the Boston area seven years ago to earn my Bachelor's degree at Northeastern University. I graduated summa cum laude in 2018, with an honors degree in Political Science & International Affairs. After graduation, I spent about three years working in emerging markets investing for Eaton Vance/Morgan Stanley before leaving finance to join a Boston impact investing non-profit called Social Finance.
I have worked and volunteered as a tutor for middle and high school students throughout my own high school and college years. I covered a variety of subjects including English/ESL, French, and History, but I have particularly enjoyed English/ESL tutoring. I am looking forward to working with you!

Learning a new language should be fun! I know from my own experience that it can be awkward and scary to try speaking a new language; the most important thing to me is that my students feel respected, safe, and comfortable as they try out new skills and knowledge with me.
I have the most experience working with intermediate to advanced English speakers who are looking for conversation practice and/or tutoring in writing.
For conversation sessions, it will be great to first get to know your interests, background, and daily life - and to learn all of the English vocabulary that goes along with describing these topics! As we progress, we can discuss current events or news, music, movies, or more technical professional subjects, depending on your interests and goals for our tutoring.
For writing tutoring, I have several years of experience providing essay outlining, essay structuring feedback, editing, and proofreading for both native English speakers and English Language Learners. I can work with you on college essays, application essays, schoolwork, or professional writing. I am available to brainstorm ideas, review drafts, and provide final edits.
