About Carine
I come from a family of educators and you can say that education is in my blood. I have always loved math and I pursued a Master's degree in mathematics from one of the top schools in France (Ecole Centrale Paris) before getting a PhD at MIT. During my studies, I was a tutor for various high school and undergraduate and graduate students.
Eager to experience life outside of academia, I applied my quantitative skills in finance and insurance for 10 years before returning to academia.
Now as a parent of neurodiverse learners, I also have experience with K-12 students and students with learning differences.

I like getting to know the student to tailor the approach. What is your learning style? What has been your experience with math so far? What do you like/dislike at school? What activities interest you? What are your strengths and areas of improvement? What are your goals for the tutoring sessions?
Based on your answer, we can collaborate to put together a plan and tailor lessons to your style. Are you a visual learner? Do you like sports and do sports analogies and examples resonate with you? Do you need frequent breaks? What is the best way to motivate you and interest you in math?
Most of all, do you know that there is no such thing as a "math person"? I believe that everyone can become good at math, we just need to find the right approach!
