About Lyn
I’m a friendly, enthusiastic and creative teacher who genuinely enjoys helping young people discover what they are capable of. I have worked in education for over 15 years, teaching and leading Art, Design and Technology, and I still love seeing a student gain confidence in their ideas and produce something they are really proud of.
Creativity is also a big part of my life outside the classroom. I love drawing and painting, reading, cooking and experimenting with new ideas and recipes. I’m also a big music lover and enjoy the way art, design, music and culture constantly influence one another.
As a tutor, I’m patient, encouraging and approachable. I know that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching to the individual rather than expecting everyone to work in the same way. Whether a student is aiming for the very highest grades, needs help getting a portfolio back on track, or simply wants to feel more confident in their subject, I want lessons to feel positive, creative and achievable.

My lessons are friendly, supportive and individually tailored to each student’s needs, interests and current level. I specialise in GCSE and A-Level Art & Design, including Fine Art, Photography, Graphics and Textiles, and can also provide tuition in Food Technology up to GCSE level.
I have a strong track record of student success, including high rates of grades 7–9 at GCSE and A–A* at A-Level. I support students with developing creative ideas, practical and technical skills, portfolio development, annotation, artist research and understanding assessment objectives.
As an experienced teacher, Subject Leader, Senior Examiner and Moderator, I have an excellent understanding of how work is assessed and what students need to demonstrate at the highest levels. My tuition provides clear, practical and encouraging guidance to help students improve their work, build confidence and achieve their potential.
I offer in person or online tuition.
