About Greta
I’m an Art & Design teacher and artist with 10 years of teaching experience. I was born in Singapore and grew up between Indonesia, Australia and the UK, which gave me an early interest in different cultures, places and ways of seeing the world. I’ve always been drawn to art because it offers a way of exploring ideas and experiences that can be difficult to express in other ways.
I love teaching because I enjoy helping people discover what they are interested in, develop their confidence and see their ideas grow into something tangible. I’m particularly interested in contemporary art, experimentation and encouraging students to find their own creative voice, rather than simply trying to produce what they think a teacher wants to see.
My specialism and background is in photography and I have a personal practice in sculpture and ceramics. I’m currently studying for an MA in Art and Science at Central Saint Martins, alongside my own artistic practice, and I’m excited to continue sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for art through tutoring.

My lessons are relaxed, practical and tailored to what you want to achieve. I have 10 years’ experience teaching Art & Design in secondary and further education, so I have worked with students of all different abilities, from those who are just starting to find their confidence in art to those aiming for the highest grades.
I can help with GCSE and A Level Fine Art and Photography, as well as Art Foundation and university applications, portfolio preparation and developing your own personal art practice. Depending on what you need, a lesson might involve working through a practical skill, developing ideas for a project, looking at artists and contemporary art, getting feedback on your work, or working out how to take a piece of work further.
For GCSE and A Level students, I can also help you understand exactly what you need to demonstrate in your coursework and exam projects. I am a moderator for both AQA and Pearson Edexcel, so I have an excellent and up-to-date understanding of assessment criteria and what separates a good project from an excellent one. I can help you improve your work without taking over your ideas or making your work look like someone else's, while meeting the necessary criteria to achieve highly.
If you are applying to Art Foundation or university, I can help you build and edit your portfolio, develop a stronger body of work, talk through your ideas and prepare for applications or interviews. I am currently studying for an MA in Art and Science at Central Saint Martins, alongside developing my own artistic practice, so I am still actively engaged in contemporary art and research myself.
I particularly enjoy helping students who feel stuck or don't know how to move their work forward. Art can sometimes feel quite intimidating, especially when you are expected to come up with your own ideas, and I want my lessons to give you the space to experiment, make mistakes and figure out what interests you.
My approach is not about telling you what your art should look like. I want to help you develop your own ideas, build confidence in your abilities and make work that feels genuinely yours.
