About Scot
I have spent the past 33 years working in Film, TV and theatre as an actor, writer, director, producer and educator. In that time I’ve worked with many of the World’s greatest film-makers and actors, but nothing has given me more of a sense of satisfaction, quite like teaching has. The nurturing of young artists to be become industry ready, not just as actors, but as people, feels incredibly rewarding.
I am a supporter of equality, diversity and inclusion in the arts, and a great champion of achieving social mobility via them.

“All great actors have a secret. I’m here to tell you what it is.”
- At the heart of my technique is finding truth, especially on the screen. The film camera is unforgiving and the greatest lie detector. It will spot a lie and magnify it, then project it large for all to see. The camera is allergic to ‘acting’.
- Self-consciousness is what stands between the actor and the truth. It is what makes the actor ‘give’ a performance rather than just live it. By providing you with tricks of the trade I have learnt in my 30+ years in films, I will teach you how to eradicate all self-consciousness from your performance. Make your performance more dynamic, intriguing and memorable.
- My clients will be aspiring actors 16+ looking to work on their drama school auditions, working actors prepping for auditions, or accomplished actors just looking to flex their craft. I can also teach directors how to bring truthful performances out of their actors.
- I can teach actors and directors in a 1-2-1 capacity or actors in pairs as scene partners. I can work with your own audition or film scenes or can provide you with a film scene for the purpose of the masterclass.
- Sessions can be 60, 90 or 120 minutes long.
- I have starred in over 50 film and television dramas in the UK, Europe and US, working with many of the World’s greatest film-makers, including BAFTA, Emmy, Golden Globe, Tony and Academy Award winners and alongside actors such as Tom Hardy, Liam Neeson, Monica Bellucci, Felicity Jones and Stephen Graham. I am also a professional director, playwright and screenwriter and have directed several plays on Grade A theatres around the country.
- I have taught Acting and Screen acting at Levels 4, 5 & 6 to BA undergraduates in performing art schools, including LIPA and LMA.
