About Lumena
As an ESL tutor with 10 years of experience, I have worked with over 150 high school and college students, helping them strengthen their English skills for academic success and everyday communication. My teaching philosophy emphasises creativity, communication, and student-centred instruction. I believe that every student learns differently, so I create lessons tailored to their goals, interests, and learning styles. My classes are interactive, combining reading, writing, listening, and speaking exercises with discussions, role-plays, and real-life examples. I focus on helping students develop confidence, critical thinking skills, and the ability to express themselves clearly in English. Many students who were once hesitant speakers have gone on to excel in exams, presentations, and academic writing. Beyond ESL, I include supporting subjects such as reading comprehension, essay writing, vocabulary enrichment, and practical language applications, equipping students with the skills they need for academic success and everyday communication.
