I follow constructivist learning theory. My learners learn by doing. I give them tasks and projects which they perform repeatedly while using English throughout the process, until they approach proficiency. I also dig in to the learners' areas of interest, and try to give them speaking, listening, reading and writing activities within those areas at least 40% of the time to maintain engagement. I am guided by the Headway ESL series (Cambridge University Press).
