About Rochelle

Hello! I am an ESL teacher with over 18 years of experience teaching English in international schools and universities.
I have a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and TESOL, and I have taught students in Australia, Singapore, and other international settings, including Macquarie University and IB schools.
I speak Chinese and have experience with several other languages (about 6 more). I am also currently learning Thai. This helps me understand how it feels to learn a new language, so I can teach in a clear, patient, and simple way.
I help students improve their English in a practical way. My lessons focus on speaking, confidence, and real-life communication, not just textbooks.
I work with beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners. I also help students prepare for IELTS, CELPIP, and school English.
My lessons are calm, supportive, and easy to follow. My goal is to help you speak English confidently in real life, school, and work.

About the lesson

My lessons are friendly, clear, and focused on helping you use English in real life. I have over 18 years of teaching experience in international schools and universities, so I understand how to help students of different ages and levels.

I always change my teaching style to fit each student (adult - new immigrants or child).

My first language is English, I speak Chinese (Mandarin) and I know 6 other languages as well (which you will get to know once I am your teacher.)

Some students need help with speaking.
Some need help with school English.
Some need exam practice.
I will support your goals step by step.

My teaching method:
I focus on real communication, not just textbooks.

In my lessons, you will:
- speak English in a safe and relaxed way,
- learn useful words and sentences for daily life,
- improve grammar step by step
- practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing
- get clear feedback so you know how to improve

I help you feel more confident, even if you are afraid of making mistakes.

Each lesson is simple and structured:
1) Short warm-up conversation
2) New vocabulary or grammar point
3) Speaking or practice activity
4) Real-life English practice (role play or discussion)
5) Feedback and homework (if needed)

Every lesson has a clear goal, so you always know what you are learning. Or we could customize the lessons so that it fits your goals in life.
