About Jhori
I graduated from George Washington University School of Medicine in February. I also received a BA in Anthropology with a minor in biology in 2017. I have experience teaching middle and high school students sex education and healthy living. I also have experience teaching adult students English as a second language. My background allows for me to teach a broad range of subjects as I have experience with science and English reading comprehension and writing. It is important to me that learning is consistent and fun, I try to incorporate these principles in my lessons. Outside of tutoring, I have interests in foraging, herbalism (especially connecting herbalism to old African American cultural practices), and candle making. I am curious, bubbly, open minded and love teaching others.

I like to use a workbook that contains repetition, pictures and understanding. My typical lesson plan starts with basic words and continues to forming sentences and grammar. My tutoring is for adult learners who have low English proficiency. What sets me apart as a tutor is my patience, creativity, and cultural competency due to my degree in anthropology
