About Paul
I am a professional ESL teacher with more than 15 years of experience teaching in public & private schools in Taiwan. I help students gain confidence in speaking, listening & reading comprehension, and academic English writing. I can also help professionals improve their English language skills needed for work promotions and English language certificates (such as TOEIC and IELTS).

My teaching methods are fair and laid back, but strict when the situation demands it. I want my students to be pushing themselves forward and putting in a decent effort. students are expected to join in class discussions and group projects. I like to use differing media when I teach (film, TV, music, TED Talks) as I feel it’s the best way to engage students and keep their interest. I approach ESL with structure, yet offer flexibility to meet student needs. We work at the pace of the students and only progress forward when the students have demonstrated that they have both a clear understanding of the material and the ability to apply what they’ve learned to practical everyday English usage.

Details
Rates vary according to number of students:
1-on-1 = $25/hr
2-3 students = $30/hr
4-5 students = $40/hr
CANCELLATIONS:
Student(s) must give a minimum of 30 minutes notice for cancellation. If 30 minutes notice isn't given, then student(s) will be charged for an hour (+ any transportation fees acquired if traveling outside of SW Calgary)
TRAVEL FEES:
If classes are taught in SW Calgary, no fee.
If classes are taught in SE Calgary = $5 transportation fee
If classes are taught in NW or NE Calgary = $10 transportation fee
