About Aaliyah

*My number one goal in tutoring ESL is to make you as confident and as comfortable as you can be in your English language skills.*

I have worked with adults and with children (ages 2-14).

I genuinely enjoy teaching English and seeing my students' progress over the duration of our time together. It is rewarding to see them socialize and become comfortable communicating in English.

I am patient, adaptable, and observant.

I love teaching, but I also love learning about other cultures and learning other languages.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed for beginner (A2) to upper-intermediate (B2) students that are learning English as a foreign language.

I personalize each lesson to fit your needs and foster an environment for open communication between my students and I. With that being said, each lesson's topic will depend on your initial understanding of the material and on your goal for progress in that area.

Once we have establish those two things, we will work together to enhance your English proficiency using both popular culture and academics.

Progress in language learning is not linear. Some of the lessons may be harder to understand than others. If you get upset or overwhelmed during the lesson, let me know, we can take a break or move on to something a little easier.
As someone who has studied other languages, I understand how difficult and frustrating it can be. For that reason, I would like our lessons to be a safe space to discuss those difficulties and work through them.
