About Nicholas
I am an English teacher with over seven years experience in Australia and China. Rich experience teaching vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing and speaking. Succesfully assisted students prepare to study and work in English speaking countries. I have guided students through IELTS and Cambridge exams.

I use an active task based approach to teaching English. First I assess the students' abilities and ask them about their their goals. Following this I search for relevant real world based resources that will be both of use to them and interesting. During the class I introduce the topic and then guide the student through the resource (whether listening or reading) and then work with them to extract useful grammar and vocabulary. For the next stage of the class I create a scenario or task for the student to use the grammar or vocabulary they have learnt and really put it into practice. During this part of the class I liek to let the student take the lead and give them freedom to explore English. Finally I will work together with the student and correct any mistakes they have made and and assign them a task or homework to allow them to practice before the next lesson.
