About Kiran

My name is Kiran and I am a first-year medical student at UCL. I have a passion for science and thoroughly enjoy teaching and mentoring. I offer tailored tuition for Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology at GCSE and A-Level. I aim to help students grasp every concept and work towards the highest grades, through a process which is both beneficial and enjoyable. Every student has a different style of learning and level of understanding; I will deliver sessions to best suit the needs of each tutee, varying my approach to ensure they fulfil their potential.

Especially with scientific subjects, a logical approach and an understanding of key underlying principles will ensure a successful result. Having sat exams recently and experienced the new specifications, I understand what is required to achieve the top grades. During my studies at Haberdashers’ Aske’s School, I achieved A*s in all subjects at both GCSE (10A*), & A-Level (3A*) and the highest marks in Biology GCSE and A-Level. My extensive knowledge of each subject extends beyond the parameters of the GCSE and A-Level specifications and will ensure students have a level of knowledge, enabling them to perform to the best of their abilities.

I have developed an extensive understanding of exam technique and what is required for a student to achieve the top grades. In summer exams, technique and approach is critical and will determine the result. Through practice, I will teach, develop and perfect these techniques to ensure the best application of knowledge. Coupled with a sound understanding, exam technique will unlock the highest grades.

- Professional Tutoring
- Mentor for UCL Target Medicine Scheme (giving tailored support to Y12 pupils applying to study medicine)

As a medical student, I have experienced the entire application process and the competition involved. Having received all my offers (UCL, Imperial, Kings & Leicester) and an award for my application, I can offer valuable advice for all stages of the application (including interview coaching). I wish to give prospective medical students the best chance of securing interviews and offers. I am currently a UCL Target Medicine mentor, offering support and advice to Y12 students applying to read medicine at University. The scheme is a key part of the UCL medical school outreach and widening participation initiatives.
