About Sheila
My name is Sheila and I am a graduate in English studies with a native (C2) level of English certified by the University of Cambridge. I have experience as a private English teacher for children with learning difficulties, giving guided tours to school groups, and as a teacher of English at an academy.

My teaching method is based on adaptation according to the needs of the individual student. I like to teach English (and Spanish) as an individual language instead of as an equivalent to the student's native tongue, emphasizing what proves to be more difficult for the student and trying to make them assimilate the language rather than memorising rules. I try to design dynamic and entertaining lessons so I don't simply explain the theory and do practical exercises unless that is the client's preference. Instead, I like to combine book contents with more engaging exercises using literature, games, videos, etc.
Moreover, I like my students to feel comfortable and not ashamed of their level of English and, therefore, I try to create a trustworthy and respectful relationship that allows students to express themselves and get in touch with the second language as much as possible.

Generally, all classes will be charged equally. If I have to spend too much money on transportation to reach the student's house, it could be discussed with the student or the parents.
