About Sophie
I love learning languages and I have a degree in German and Mandarin Chinese, so I know exactly what it's like to struggle with those grammar rules! My professional background is in multilingual customer service but over the past ten years I have also had many wonderful opportunities to tutor English in large and small groups, individually, at university, in schools, in coffee shops, in hotels and online. I strongly believe that everyone can learn English - whether you are 6 or 60 years old and whatever your background is.

My favourite way of teaching is through real life materials inspired by your interests and hobbies (a method I have often used for myself when studying a foreign language). For example, if you are interested in cooking, then we can look at videos, articles, books, songs, etc. related to cooking and get all kinds of grammar, vocabulary and phrases from these.
I also know that sometimes you can't beat a good textbook, so if you need to focus on a particular exam or test, I would love to help you work through whatever material you have.
