About Maria
I have been a full time classroom in both South Africa and Australia. I have been teaching English and Maths for 40 years. I have taught students in Elementary and Primary School. (Ages 5-12), differnet languages and cultures. I believe that every teacher should teach from the heart and not only from the book. I am also qualified to teach students with learning difficulties which is one of my very strong points. I recently obtained my International TEFL/TESOL certificate. I make sure that every student in my class experience victory and success. I also use TPR when needed, especially with the younger students.

My learning is fun and enriching. Explicit instruction- I we do, you do. I use real world examples, graphic organizers and a variety of activities. Structure and differentiation and I make sure that my students understands all instructions given. I use multi-models, real objects, different strategies and include ice-breakers/warm-ups and fun learning activities. If i am teaching a group i make use of collaborative teaching as well. I only use positive encouragement and praise my students a lot during the lesson.
