About Polina
I am an English, French and Japanese teacher. Originally from Russia, I got my bachelor's degree in Japanese language in Paris 7 University, then I did an exchange year at the University of Kobe, in Japan. Back in Russia, I worked as an English teacher in a private language school for a year, which is where I learned the teaching methodology. Then I traveled for six months in Australia and South East Asia, after which I worked as a full time private teacher in Russia. In 2019-2020 I lived in Turkey, in Istanbul, where I took CELTA, a Cambridge certificate which allows to teach English anywhere in the world, and then worked in a language school. Now I only give private online lessons (individual and in group). I regularly take courses for teachers (in 2020 I completed a Cambridge course about teaching English online, a mini course to prepare students for IELTS, a course on language learning and teaching from Southampton University). As I speak 6 languages (Russian, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Turkish) and I am learning the 7th now (Georgian), I know very well what it means to study a language, and I know how to make learning effective and fun :)

From the beginning I have been using the communicative approach in my lessons, so the lessons are completely in English, and there is always a balance between grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, written and oral comprehension and of course written and oral production. So you will start to speak English from the first lesson.
I also give IELTS preparation classes.
