About Eleanor
I gave private english lessons in Shanghai from 2012 up to 2016. My clientale ranged from children aged 4 years and just beginning to learn the basics of english to adults wishing to improve their day to day conversational english level. I believe that by improving conversation levels and gaining confidence, grammar and vocabulary will improve much more easily.
Previously I taught english in a primary school in Costa Rica. I have also had experience translating business documentation from french and spanish into english.

When teaching children (4 years to 15 years), my focus has always been to give children the confidence to speak and to enjoy learning the language using text books and British Council materials. I adapt my lessons depending on the age and level of the pupil. I can concentrate on reinforcing school work and preparing for exams as well as introducing new topics. My focus when teaching adults has always been conversation practice to improve the speaking level. This Involves reading newspaper articles, debating topics and carrying out presentations. I am very attentive and correct grammar and vocabulary without dampening enthusiasm or rhythm.
